NEF partner Housing Hope has broken ground on Twin Lakes Landing II! The development is a new 60-unit, four-building, garden-style affordable housing community in Marysville, WA. It is the second phase of Twin Lakes Landing, a 50-unit development east of the site. The new phase will consist of six one-, 34 two- and 20 three-bedroom units, targeting 30 households at or below 50 percent AMI and 30 homeless households at or below 30 percent AMI, which will receive project-based Section 8 subsidies. The development will offer an array of services including case management and employment training. Each building will be 100 percent electric, their energy efficient design centering around the use of “superinsulation” which heavily reduces the buildings’ heating load. The site will also include 18kW solar arrays on each roof and highly efficient electric water heating.

NEF helped sponsor the groundbreaking event and are honored to support our longtime partners at Housing Hope as they continue to expand the availability of affordable housing through properties like Twin Lakes Landing II. Advocates of Housing Hope’s work including U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, Congressional Representatives Suzan DelBene (WA-01) and Rick Larson (WA-02), as well as several Snohomish County and city of Marysville officials were in attendance at the celebration.

NEF Originations VP Tony Daguanno, who worked on the development with Housing Hope, commented on the groundbreaking, “Housing Hope has been a NEF partner for nearly 30 years. In that time, we have worked together on over 10 housing developments, including Twin Lakes Landing II, a second phase development in Marysville, WA. The 60-unit, garden-style apartments is our latest effort to support Housing Hope as it continues to fulfill its mission to provide affordable housing, reduce homelessness and poverty throughout Snohomish County. We are grateful to be part of the team.”
