Local officials and community members were joined by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) in November to celebrate the grand opening of Sunnybrook in Alton, Illinois.
Sunnybrook brings 40 new affordable homes to Madison County for families earning 30–60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This thoughtfully designed community includes 10 buildings with four homes each, a community center, green space, ADA-accessible sidewalks, and family-friendly amenities including a playground and walking paths.
These amenities provide spaces for connection, recreation, and support services that empower residents to build stability, foster wellness, and reach their full potential.
Sunnybrook reflects the power of collaboration between state agencies, developers, and community partners to expand access to quality affordable housing and strengthen neighborhoods.
