Homeless Families
Horizon Crest Apartments was a partnering effort between the Salvation Army, Nevada HAND, Inc. and the City of Las Vegas to create a 78-unit development with 70 new affordable family housing units in northern Las Vegas. Twelve units are dedicated to the chronically homeless or disabled and the Salvation Army provides all the necessary support services to residents on their adjacent campus. The project also includes a community building and play area. Â
Homeless Women and Women with Children
Jeremiah Program targets women dedicated to complete a post-secondary education or training program. The Jeremiah Program offers empowerment training; life skills education and intensive individual coaching; personal
development planning in the areas of parenting, career development, self-esteem, time management, financial independence, self-discipline, physical and emotional health, safety, and community connectedness; and resources for tutoring, job coaching, career exploration, emotional support/ counseling, and spiritual development. The Program provides a safe, nurturing, and creative child development center which includes school-readiness training for children.
