Helping Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

This $11.9 million, 51-unit project is the first residence designed to meet the housing Grandparent Family Apartmentsand service needs of seniors raising children in New York City (Bronx). GrandParent Family Apartments has a unique partnership with the NYC Housing Authority, and is the recipient of NYC LISC's Big Apple Award for Innovation. After-school youth programs are available on-site as well as expansive community space.

Verne Barry Place is a creative example of building preservation and adaptation in Grand Rapids, Mich., designed to meet the needs of some of the area’s lowest-income residents. NEF invested $13.5 million on behalf of eight investors to fund this impressive "green" development.

The 116-unit supportive housing project, developed by Dwelling Place, Inc., features seven commercial spaces and serves homeless residents, including veterans.
